Father's Day

Father's Day is here and like Mother's Day this is a time to give thanks.

It can be a tough day. Some of you don't have a relationship with your father, some of you have never met your father and you are on a journey to find your father, while some of you see him everyday but have no relationship with him. Some of you miss him dearly because he has passed. Some of you have two fathers, a step-dad, or perhaps you're adopted.

I would like to encourage you this day. If you have a relationship with your Dad, then let him know how thankful you are. If you don't, then use this day to extend your heart to open up the lines of communication. For some of you this may seem redundant, something you've tried and tried but never succeeded for whatever reason.  For others it may mean saying "I'm sorry". Whatever the case, wherever you are, use this time to challenge yourself to reach out and offer love and respect. Furthermore, perhaps you're a parent, use this opportunity to set a positive example, maybe today breaks that bad relational cycle and offers hope for your future relationship with your own kids.

There are so many of us who struggle in this area of life, you are not alone.

Grace & Peace ~ Clint
