It has been a CRAZY past couple of months – I got married, have been to a few conferences, done some outreach to our local Adult Entertainment businesses, and been thinking a lot about addiction.
One of the conferences I attended was the L.I.F.E. conference held in Orlando FL. I got to take 5 of my facilitators that lead groups for women who struggle with porn and groups that are for women whose husbands struggle with porn. One of the major things I saw was how recovery needs to be done in community. Whether it is someone that is keeping you accountable, or a group you go to, you really don’t have to go at it on your own. I tried to “handle” my addiction for years, I told myself I could stop whenever I wanted, that I wasn’t hurting anyone – but in actuality – it hurt everyone around me, including myself.
