The heartsupport Story
Jon Bell
Jon's involvement in heartsupport began when he was an adolescent and realized that he was never happy, later realizing that depression had taken over. The accompanying anxiety as well as constant depression were too much for Jon and he sought ways to escape from his own life. Relatively early on in his life, Jon developed addictions to drugs which ultimately attributed to higher levels of unhappiness. His journey came full circle when the people closest to him pulled him up and out of his misery and gave him a chance at happiness. Today, Jon shares the mission of heartsupport with Clint and Craig because of the experiences of his own journey and the shared mission to remind people that they are not alone. He cares deeply about a mission that says that sometimes the two most important words for a person to say are "Me Too," and that sometimes all someone needs to hear is "You Don't Have To Live Like This" in order to help them change their life, just like Jon's community said to him. Jon is available to share the story of his life, including the times of depression and addiction, as well as the times of restoration and reconciliation that have helped him in his journey. Craig Gross
Craig founded Fireproof Ministries in 1999 and has been dealing with several issues of the heart for many years. In 2002, he launched XXXchurch.com, a website dealing with the addiction of pornography. He has become a leading voice in this area and spent much of his time dealing with people caught up in some sort of addiction. He has several different talks available for sharing. Here is a recent talk he gave at Mars Hill Church in Grand Rapids on addictions. Download - "The Belt". Clint McManaman
A line beneath a heart, the identity for heartsupport, began as an idea in Clint's sketchbook drawn from the backseat of his band's tour-van in the fall of 2005. It originated from his desire to use design as a means to reach out and help those he had met on the road with issues desperate to be addressed, issues of the heart. He began selling the black & white t-shirts on myspace in hopes that someday heartsupport would become more than a tee label. Today, heartsupport.com is exactly that - an online community open to conversation while supplying real help on the issues he had seen in so many people around him. Clint's hope for heartsupport is that the stories shared through the website will not only show people they are not alone in their struggles, but that they can become empowered, overcome them and help others along the way.
