How can you bring a Support Wall to heal the scene in your city?

If you’ve been part of the HeartSupport community for a while, you likely know how vital the Support Wall experience is to our mission of healing the scene.

The Support Wall provides a place for concert and festival attendees to open up anonymously about their struggles by writing on a tile. The tile is placed on the Support Wall, where other attendees can stop by and choose to write their responses. This means that the original music fan who shared can receive love, support, and empathy in real time, all from people who love the same music they do.

For the first time in 2026, we’re making it possible for local HeartSupport chapters to bring a Support Wall to events in their own communities. It’s already happening, and it’s working: HeartSupport’s Minneapolis chapter covered the cost of their own Support Wall, and has held their first event with the Wall in their city.

How can you do the same? It’s easier than you think to bring mental health support to fellow music fans!

Step 1: Become an Activator

It starts with going to this link and selecting the option of becoming an Activator: heartsupport.com/volunteer

An Activator is someone who is ready to be a part of on-the-ground HeartSupport initiatives. This will put you on HeartSupport’s map.

Step 2: Become a Team Leader or a Team Member

Different levels of involvement are right for different people (and might even vary at different points in your life). You’ll get to choose how much time you have to invest in activating your community to heal the scene!

A Team Leader:

  • Builds a full team of other members

  • Talks with local venues and promoters to find shows to activate the Support Wall

  • Commit to fundraising $1800 (which covers half of a Support Wall’s production costs — we fundraise the other half for you and meet in the middle!)

  • Coordinate team members

  • Volunteer at shows

A Team Member:

  • Supports the team leader in all of the above, including identifying concert partners and fundraising

  • Volunteer at shows

Step 3: Become part of a team

If there’s a team already active if your area, we will add you to them! You’ll get to connect with like-minded music fans who believe in the power of metal and rock to impact our mental health in a positive way.

If there isn’t a team already active in your area, you get to be part of finding others who believe those things and hooking them up to this supportive community! You’ll be added to our group of future Support Wall Communities, and in the meantime, you’ll get added to a Discord server to start talking with other activators across the country.

Remember: you can always invite your own concert buddies to join you! Some of the best foundations for future Support Wall teams are groups of friends who already care about and trust each other.

Step Fundraise and get your Wall!

After your team is filled and approved, you’ll be able to fundraise. Don’t worry: HeartSupport and the other local teams will be there for you to jump in with tips and tricks for crossing that fundraising finish line.

After you’ve raised the funds, we’ll ship you a Support Wall, and you can start planning where it will make its first appearance! You’ll be cleared to deploy it as often as you’d like, with a minimum goal of three times a month.

You can also start your own social media channels, such as an Instagram page, to keep your community connected and share in real time as your Wall begins to heal the scene in your area. We’ve seen that the Support Wall works, ever since the first massive version that hit the road with Warped Tour nearly a decade ago. Now inflatable, packable, storable, and transportable, the Support Wall can foster connection and healing anywhere music fans gather.

This is how we’re growing from four Support Walls to 20 in 2026. Are you ready to get started? Become an Activator now!
