Hopeless Records selects HeartSupport as their nonprofit of the quarter

Hopeless Records’ charitable arm, The Hopeless Foundation, has selected HeartSupport as their charitable beneficiary of the quarter.

Hopeless Records is one of the most significant label homes in the alternative music scene, housing such genre mainstays as PVRIS, Neck Deep, Point North and Fame On Fire. They chose to start The Hopeless Foundation with the belief that musicians and their fans have the passion to change the world in powerful ways. To date, they have raised over $3 million dollars for causes centered around mental health, music education, and healthcare access.

Their core ethos states that “artists and their fans are already changing the world - and that real impact happens when people take action together.” That belief aligns well with HeartSupport’s work.

Hopeless Records loves the work HeartSupport is doing for a multitude of reasons. The goal is, and always has been, to keep fans in the scene safe. We love that HeartSupport provides a safe, judgement-free place to discuss mental health. Rock and emo music have long been a home for outsiders or anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t belong, and that sense of community matters now more than ever. There’s no place for stigma in that space, and HeartSupport is helping ensure there never has to be again.

The charity of the quarter is selected by Hopeless Records’ staff members. From there, the Foundation posts about the charity on social media, educates about their impact, and encourages fans to get involved. Hopeless Records even adds the option on their webstore to round up to benefit the selected charity.

HeartSupport was launched as the current featured cause at the beginning of May.

Past charity features for The Hopeless Foundation include the Crisis Text Line, To Write Love On Her Arms, and RAINN. The Hopeless Foundation also pioneered the Songs That Saved My Life project, an initiative in which Hopeless artists cover songs that have deeply impacted their own mental health, with proceeds supporting mental health causes. You can learn more about the project at songsthatsavedmylife.com, and follow them on Spotify.

The Hopeless Foundation also pioneered the Hopeless Music Academy in California, a no-cost music school to invite youth from underserved communities to participate in the arts.

With a proven history of showing up to mobilize music fans to take tangible action, HeartSupport is honored to be the latest beneficiary of The Hopeless Foundation. As the Songs That Saved My Life project says, “Every music lover has a song that's helped them through a tough time.”

That’s a concept HeartSupport has seen firsthand through bringing mental health support to heal the scene, both online and on the ground at festivals and through local chapters across the United States.
